Dr. Viviana Alava is from Tampa, Florida and attended the University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor's in Integrative Animal biology. She went on to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. On the island of St. Kitts, she explored her passion for research on zoonotic diseases such as Q-fever. She later went to Iowa State University to finish her clinical year of vet school. Dr. Alava is passionate about surgery, preventative care, and exotics. In her free time, Dr. Alava loves to go to the gym, hiking, skating, and water activities. She has one dog named Harvey and two cats, Salem and Norman.
